Royal biographies aren’t even a guilty pleasure for me – because I feel no guilt for what I enjoy. I’m big enough and ugly enough to know that, realistically, the royal family really doesn’t do much for Australia. Still, I love the pomp and ceremony, the architecture and the wild history of The Crown.
But I think if you’re going to write a biography on a member of the royals, maybe don’t be totally in love with them. Kind of makes it hard to see this as anything other than a one sided story, no matter how well it’s written.
