writing - mental health - tomfoolery

Playlist: Lessons In Love

Lessons In Love was another re-write. When HQ optioned my books, they did so for a couple of self-published books. Lessons In Love was originally released as Say Yes.

In my not at all humble way, I did the cover myself and thought it looked pretty amazing. That is, until HQ sent me the lovely pink cover you know and love today.

When I think back to the time of re-writing this, it wasn’t the most joyous time. The sheen was wearing off the hype of the contract and I was again struggling with revisiting the same characters over again, and changing them all, over again. Then, there were all the mental health issues that were gradually getting worse.

Like always, it was music that got me through it all. Headphones on, world tuned out, here are the top songs I loved at the time.

Lessons In Love Playlist

Billie Eilish – Bad Guy

Richard Marx – Hazard

a-ha – Take On Me

Don Henley – Boys of Summer

Bruce Springsteen – Dancing In The Dark

Regurgitator – ! (The Song Formerly Known As)

Annie Lennox – Walking On Broken Glass

Paul McCartney – Off The Ground

Elton John – I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues

Lady A – Need You Now
